This Item is an Extremely Rare Intel  C1701 2048-bit (256 x 8) Static / Dynamic EPROM in White Ceramic as per the Photos.

Dov Frohman of Intel invented the EPROM in 1971, and was awarded U.S. patent 3,660,819 in 1972

The intel 1701 was released by Intel  during January of 1971.
The 1701 is packaged in a 24-pin dual in-line package with a transparent lid.
The transparent lid allows the user to expose the chip to ultraviolet light to erase the bit pattern.
A new pattern can then be written into the device.

This Intel C1701 Chip appears to have been manufactured in the USA at an unknown date but most Likely 1971 or Early 1972.

I am unable to test this Chip for functionality so it is being sold for collection purposes only and as such has no warranty or guarantee of being functional.

I can assure any buyers that the prices for these vintage Chips will rise significantly over the coming years as they have done so over the past 30 years so it will be a good investment for them as the majority of the older chips have been scrapped for their gold content.
