This Item is a Very Rare Early Style Intel C1702A, 2048-bit (256 x 8) Static EPROM, in White Ceramic with a Stepping Spec of S1231, the Print Upper Front and the Earth Strap on the Lower Front as per the Photos.
Note: The "C1" has been printed over the top of a Black Dot that had been printed in error prior to the "C1702A" being Printed to the front of the Chip. This is a Very Rare Double Print on the Chip.
The intel 1702A was released by Intel during the 4th Quarter of 1972.
The 1702A is packaged in a 24-pin dual in-line package with a transparent lid.
The transparent lid allows the user to expose the chip to ultraviolet light to erase the bit pattern.
A new pattern can then be written into the device.
This Intel C1702A Chip appears to have been manufactured at an Unknown Date in Malaysia.
I am unable to test this Chip for functionality so it is being sold for collection purposes only and as such has no warranty or guarantee of being functional.
I can assure any buyers that the prices for these vintage Chips will rise significantly over the coming years as they have done so over the past 30 years so it will be a good investment for them as the majority of the older chips have been scrapped for their gold content.
