Intel C3001 Micro-Program Control Unit for the Intel C3002 Processor
Couldn't load pickup availability
This Item is a Very Rare Intel C3001 Micro-Program Control Unit for The Intel C3002 Processor in White Ceramic with Gold Plated Pins and Lid as per the Photos.
The 3001 is packaged in a 40-pin dual in-line package (DIP).
As I am do not have the equipment available to check if this C3001 is operational, it is being sold as is, for collection purposes only.
There is no Date Code or Country of Manufacture show on the Chip so I suspect that it was Manufactured Very Early and most Probably in the USA.
The Intel 3001 Micro-program Control Unit controls the sequence in which micro-instructions are fetched from the micro-program memory.
Its functions include the following:
· Maintenance of the micro-program address register.
· Selection of the next micro-instruction based on the contents of the micro-program address register.
· Decoding and testing of data supplied via several input busses to determine the micro-instruction execution sequence.
· Saving and testing the carry output data from the central processor array.
· Control of the carry/shift input data to the central processor array.
· Control of micro-program interrupts.
I I can assure any buyers that the prices for these vintage Chips will rise significantly over the coming years as they have done so over the past 30 years so it will be a good investment for them as the majority of the older chips have been scrapped for their gold content.
