This Item is an Extremely Rare Intel C3205 High Speed 1-of-8 Binary Decoder in White Ceramic with Gray Traces in a Dual Inline Package (DIP) as per the Photos.
1st released by Intel in 1970 the 3205 decoder can be used for expansion of systems, which utilize memory components with active low chip select input.
When the 3205 is enabled, one of its eight outputs goes “low”, thus a single row of a memory system is selected.
The 3 chip enable inputs on the 3205 allow easy memory expansion. For very large memory systems, 3205 decoders can be cascaded such that each decoder can drive 8 other decoders for arbitrary memory expansions.
There is a Lot Number shown on the Top of the Chip but no Date Code or place of Manufacture shown on the Bottom of the Chip but my guess is that it would have been Manufactured in the USA in the early 1970's.
I am unable to test this Chip for functionality so it is being sold for collection purposes only and as such has no warranty or guarantee of being functional.
I can assure any buyers that the prices for these vintage Chips will rise significantly over the coming years as they have done so over the past 30 years so it will be a good investment for them as the majority of the older chips have been scrapped for their gold content.
